Om Allan berättades att "han var en kvick en som hittade på allt möjligt. Han ville inte gå i skolan utan hellre vara med sin pappa. Pappan band då fast honom på en kälke med en töm och förde honom till skolan. Det hände ofta. Till sist måste man låta honom sluta i skolan. Han var inte rädd för någonting. En gång då pappan hans skulle ut i flottningsarbete och han inte fick följa med vadade han ut i älven så till sist stack bara huvudet upp och man blev tvungen att ta honom med.
